About the group

Duo Artbat is one of the most popular Ukrainian DJs and is famous all over the world. In just a few years of work, two techno performers from debutants have gone their way to everyone's favourites. Only a year after the merger, they managed to perform on the island resort of Ibiza in one of the prestigious clubs. Artbat is not the name of a Moscow street with a typo, but a combination of the first syllables of the band members - Artur and Batish.

The secret of their success lies in the original and strong sound of high quality. And their compositions fill the space with a special atmosphere and exciting drive, be it a closed club or a huge festival arena. Due to its impeccable performance, Artbat is attractive not only for collaborations with world-famous artists but also for millions of fans.

Their live was heard on almost every continent of the world. Arthur and Batish perform successfully in Brazil, Spain, Germany, Australia, the United States of America, Egypt, Dubai, Lebanon, Belgium and other countries. With incredible success, the guys play at the largest techno festivals in Europe. Despite the very busy schedule, they are happy to come to their native Kyiv to light up the techno dance floor, and with it thousands of hearts of their admirers.

Group history

Arthur and Batish are not only high-quality DJs, but also professional producers. It seemed that from the very beginning, with such data, their duet was doomed to success. And so it happened. Now the guys are Ukrainian pride on the world techno scene.

Two professionals united in 2015, from that time Artbat biography begins as a duet. To this day, their fame is only gaining momentum, every corner of the world is marked on the tour schedule, and new tracks and releases are being actively recorded at the studio.

For such a short period of concert activity, the duo managed to perform at one of the best underground clubs in Ibiza DC10, the Tribe Festival in Rio Branco (Brazil), the countercultural German festival Fusion, as well as the legendary Tomorrowland in Belgium and Loveland in the Netherlands, and others.

Also, Artbat tracks sounded from the Cercle streaming platform. Cercle is a performance by famous DJs in some beautiful places in the world. For example, our fellow countrymen played their sets on one of the mountain peaks of Rio de Janeiro. The video featuring Artbat has gained over 20 million views on YouTube.

In 2019, one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the world of techno music, the DJ Awards, took place. The event is traditionally organized in Ibiza. It was then that Arthur and Batish received the award and the title of “Breakthrough of the Year”.

Collaborations

The high quality of music and the perfect combination of rhythm and melody in the work of Arbat attracts world performers for cooperation. Therefore, in the arsenal of creativity of the Ukrainian duo, there are quite a lot of joint feats and collaboration works.

For example, Bosnian Solomun, Briton Pete Tong, Italians Tale Of Us, Canadians Deadmau5 use Artbat hits in their performances. English-Canadian DJ Richie Hawtin successfully performs Ukrainian compositions such as Wall and Mandrake. The latest single also fell in love with Maceo Plex, using it in their setlists.

The Ukrainian DJ duo is never limited to genre boundaries, so as not to shackle creative impulses. Moreover, all the most original and exciting takes place at the junction of styles or when mixing them. Therefore, Artbat's arsenal includes collaborations with both other techno DJs and indie-rockers.

In 2019, having teamed up with a DJ from Ireland, Matador presented the world with a work called Apollo 11. It should be noted that 2019 was a fruitful year for Artbat in terms of joint work. They also include a mini-album with Who Made Who called Monserrat. With Janis Filippakis, lead singer of Foals, Arthur and Batish will remix the track CamelPhat. There is also For a Feeling collaboration with the latter.

Compound

The Arbat duet consists of two members: Artur Kirilenko and Vitaly Limarenko. Two friends who are united by their love of underground parties and techno rhythms have created an incredibly cool project.

Artur Kirilenko studied at the Kyiv National University named after T.G. Shevchenko. It was released in 2005. Since 2013, he has been working as the art director of one of the most prestigious institutions CHI by Decadence House - an elite party-place in the very heart of Kyiv. He is also the art director of the dance club THE LAB in Bessarabka.

Vitaly Limarenko changed his name to a more stage name, calling himself Batish. He comes from Liepaja (a city in Latvia on the shores of the Baltic Sea). The guy does not like to advertise his part of life that does not concern music. Therefore, in social networks, he does not even indicate the year of birth or other data about himself.

Discography

Artbat received universal love and popularity thanks to its debut EP Mandrake in 2015. The work was recorded at Definition Music Studios in Zurich, Switzerland. In a short period, the work was able to climb to the top of the charts and stayed in the top hundred according to Beatport Total for a whole month.

In the same year, the guys recorded another mini-album You Are What You Dance, but already in Ukraine, on the label of the famous DJ Kon` Monotonik Records.

Another Uplift chart conqueror was recorded at the Solomun studio, which is called Diynamic Music.

2017 saw the release of two more explosive EPs: Trip and Tabu. It was this work that was able to climb the very top of the Beatport Deep House and hold out there for about three months.

The next year was marked by the release of Planeta, which was also recorded on the Diynamic Music label. It includes three tracks that have gained fame as the best-selling work in the history of the studio. In honour of this event, the disc was also released on vinyl. In early fall 2018, Artbat released Papillon.

In 2019, the world saw two works: Upperground and Monserrat, which we wrote about above. The world saw the most recent single Flame in 2021.
